Secure Access
InterMapper live network monitoring and mapping software secures connections between all components using industry standard SSL to keep data safe and private. In addition, most services have access lists that control the address ranges that are allowed to connect to a service. And InterMapper supports SNMPv3 to allow encrypted queries from network devices.
InterMapper allows user and group access restrictions: network administrators might have full rights to the maps while Help Desk staff are only able to view (but not change) maps or server configuration. Access rights can be assigned to an entire group of people and individuals can be added and removed from the group for easy maintenance. Access to maps can be assigned based on identity or IP address ranges.
InterMapper also works with corporate password strength and aging policies. It can use an Active Directory, LDAP, Radius or Open Directory server for login credentials, so that a simple change to the corporate directory will allow (or disallow) a person's access.
