Here's what customers are saying:
"Give my thanks to everyone there for the prompt attention to my
purchase. I have used InterMapper at various jobs in my career so far,
and it is by far the easiest and fastest to get up and running to
monitor a network and seems to be the most reliable at notification I
have found. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing new
developments in future releases."
Andy Flagge

"We are a K12 school spread out all over the community. As you can imagine,
without monitoring software to watch over all of the equipment on the WAN,
my
life was very interesting. Not so now.
"InterMapper has proven invaluable. I continue to find new ways to make the product useful.
"Count me as a very satisfied customer."

"InterMapper is great - it's uncomplicated. We were using Nagios, but
setting up all those text files is confusing, and a lot of work. With InterMapper
it is user friendly, you simply create the map, set the thresholds, and it'll
page you when there's a problem. "
Dave Hamwey
Network Manager
Puget Sound University
"When we saw InterMapper's map of our network, we felt like kids in a
candy store. It is very easy to set up and reasonably priced, not like
the 'big systems' that cost tens of thousands and take weeks to set up."
John Irizarry
Network Administrator
Spiral Technology
"We have been using the InterMapper product for years and it has proved itself to be bullet-proof and invaluable. With the multiple coverage provided by the county office and my shop, most router, server and connectivity problems are known to the technical staff before the users can pick up the phone."
Gary Nance
Martinez Unified School District
"I am in the National Guard in Iraq, but I use InterMapper all the time back at my regular job back home. We recently built a satellite internet service network with members of my unit so we could keep in touch with our families, and we were experiencing problems. I knew InterMapper could help. All of us here really appreciate being able to keep in touch with wives, children and girl friends and we thank everyone at Dartware for making it possible with InterMapper."
SSG Timothy A. Bishop

"I wanted to take a moment to share my praise for Dartware's InterMapper's network monitoring and alert software.
"Almost a year ago, I was charged with the difficult task of managing support for a growing network of remote locations for WiFiFee, LLC, Tech Valley's largest WISP. It was extremely important that as we continued to add more locations to our network that our dedication to customer uptime and support was not lost - a difficult task for any IT business.
SNMP monitoring seemed like our best bet to achieve this task. After evaluating over a dozen SNMP monitoring programs, InterMapper and its Wireless Pack stood tallest in the crowd. Some solutions I explored were far more expensive then InterMapper, others were open-source and totally free - but none of them stood up to the ease of use and power of Dartware's product. From InterMapper's auto-discovering tools that build complex network maps in moments to its customizable alerting systems, nobody could come close.
After purchasing InterMapper, my job has become so much easier. No longer is there any guess-work on whether or not an access point is down, and we now know about problems before our customers, allowing our responsiveness and visible uptime to increase ten- fold.
In addition, we've also used InterMapper to help us gain new clients and resellers. We even include screenshots of InterMapper in marketing materials so our clients know we're proactive. As WiFiFee has worked to expand our reseller model to provide billing, authentication, and support services to other WISPs nationwide, InterMapper has been a huge selling point that has helped us gain new resellers because our competition simply doesn't offer this level of proactive monitoring.
Kudos to Dartware! We look forward to seeing new wireless probes and exciting new features! Thanks again! "

"InterMapper Remote is much more effective than taking control of the computer remotely. We can have multiple users logged on to the InterMapper server through InterMapper Remote working on different maps at the same time. The speeds are also much better with InterMapper Remote than using our remote clients."

"Mercer County Special Services School District (MCSSSD) is one of eight special services school districts in the state of New Jersey. It serves children with disabilities, age 3-21, in six schools. Students are from Mercer County and surrounding communities as far north as Elizabeth and as far south as Cherry Hill.
MCSSSD created its Technology Office in August 1998. At that point, it had one server and 240 computers, of which only 34 were connected to a network. The installed computer base has grown to more than 40 servers, and approximately 800 workstations. The Technology Office supports both instructional and administrative technology in the administrative office and six schools spread throughout Mercer County. It is staffed by a technology manager, secretary and database coordinator.
I first used InterMapper in Princeton Regional Schools in 1994. When I came to MCSSSD in 1998, InterMapper was one of the first purchases I made, and since then we have used InterMapper for network monitoring.
InterMapper provides an easy-to-configure, out-of-the-box solution to network monitoring and management. It tracks via multiple probe types, improving the ability to create meaningful maps or web pages and provide easy notification via alarm sounds, email or SMS messaging when I have a device down.
InterMapper lets me know when things go wrong, no matter the time. It is like having a 24x7x365 network operations center managing your network for you, at a much lower cost. I could not support the number of computers I need to support without it.
We used to use Transcend for 3Com in conjunction with InterMapper, however, today we feel InterMapper is able to meet all of our needs. InterMapper is simply an easy to use solution that works without a lot of effort on my part and keeps track of my network, freeing me up to support my users.
The first year I was here, I had to justify the InterMapper purchase price. I told my Board of Education, buying InterMapper was like buying a 24x7x365 person to watch our network. A great investment!
As our network has grown, InterMapper has grown right along with it. We started with one map watching one location, we now have five maps watching all locations. We maintain maps down to the individual user's computer and building printers, although we do not use the alert feature on everything. When a user calls with a problem, a quick check of InterMapper will tell whether their machine is on the network. Since we have to drive to all of our sites, it is great to be able to check on a computer or printer before making the trip. I take every opportunity I have to recommend InterMapper to my peers. Bar none, it is the best solution for school network management!"

Technology Manager

"I began working with InterMapper about two years ago while at Internet Service Provider, Northwest Internet Services. InterMapper was our main point of network control. Any devices going down would generate pages to the specific group of people responsible for them. The devices are, but not limited to: Mail servers, DNS Servers, Wireless Access Points, and Routers. We used InterMapper to monitor bandwidth utilization, uptime, network issues, and response.
When I came to Spencer Hospital, I saw the need for a network management system here, as well. I looked at a few, such as HPOV and Solarwinds. I found InterMapper to be the most affordable. The hospital now monitors all servers with SNMP. InterMapper gives us the ability to be proactive in our environment. When drives start to fill up, network links get full, or processors peak, we know about it and can react many times before the end users know the problem exists. We've put up wireless and also monitor all of the WAP's. Most devices, firewalls/switches/routers, are monitored with SNMP and alerts have been setup.
We use the Windows version, and I alone pretty much do all of our Linux work on the one server we have. I've found InterMapper to be an extremely stable Windows program."
Brian R. Stamper
Network Coordinator
Spencer Hospital
"I sort of feel like Johnny Appleseed," says Scott McCulley of DDB Chicago, publisher of the Yellow Pages. "I have been using InterMapper® for Mac since 1997 and I take it to every new company I work for. Currently, I use it in conjunction with Wild Packets and EtherPeek.
What I really like about InterMapper is that it's plug and play. It's a visual tool that lays everything out in the way that I choose to maximize the information available. I can lay out my network one subnet or one device at a time and see the problems on an individual subnet.
We have HP Open View but that requires a trained operator. We evaluated several network monitoring packages including Lan Surveyor. We chose InterMapper, not only because of my previous experience with it, but because it is easier to install, it's intuitive and, best of all, it works.
Long live InterMapper."
Scott McCulley
Director, Information Technology

"Georgia Technology Authority's (GTA) purpose is to deliver secure, reliable technology services and solutions, and provide guidance and oversight that lead to sound decisions for Georgia government. Among the specific responsibilities are to operate the state's data center and telecommunications network and facilitate statewide strategic planning to build a technology-enabled government.
We have been using InterMapper since 1999 and hope to use the InterMapper RemoteAccess soon. We employ InterMapper for alarms in our core, LAN, and WAN environments. When a device goes down, InterMapper shows the alarm and we respond to it, creating a trouble ticket, resolving the issue and keeping the customers informed."

"We have HP Openview running on a dual-processor Dell monitoring our seven building LANs. While it can do a lot, we find it difficult to configure and use. It's rather fussy. We use InterMapper running on an OS X Mac to monitor our WAN connections and for other network mapping chores. It's fast, has a very configurable display and it is very powerful. Most people in our building enjoy hearing the cheers and boos from InterMapper as a WAN node comes back up again or goes down as they walk by our operations door.
Right now our WAN is a coaxial Cable INET, and InterMapper allows us to keep the cable company on its toes. We email them outages logs, and now they don't bother questioning whether this was a "real" outage or not. InterMapper is a great program at a great price."
Gene Warfel
Director Data Services
Concord and Concord-Carlisle Schools

"InterMapper's ability to send text messages before any complaints arise is a godsend. If I get the call at home, I can usually connect in via our VPN and restore service without driving in.
Furthermore, InterMapper's sophisticated probes allow me to watch our FirstClass server and monitor specific pages on our web server. Pings just don't do it."
David Rossell
Network Administrator

"When I read that IM Remote was a Java application, my heart sank. Until I used it. Wow. Snappy, smooth and consistent. Bravo! IM Remote on OS X is by far my choice for interfacing with InterMapper. Great work!"
Gregory Talmo
Network Coordinator

"We recently upgraded our frame relay network, removing the SNA controllers to get everything onto IP. We needed a tool that could alert us to outages of our remote locations in real-time.
InterMapper had everything we needed and then some. It autodiscovered our network, made it easy to create maps, and just watched what was going on as well as getting notified electronically that something had gone down.
Now we can be proactive. We can see a failure and call a location before they're even aware they have a problem. InterMapper makes the support in the IS dept look great!"
Spencer Kartchner
Network Manager

"I came from an OpenView environment, but InterMapper is much easier. I saw how easy it is to map a big network, so I decided to try it."
Chris Costa

"You know what? You guys rock. I don't think I've ever worked with a software package where the developers are so concerned with their product that they take the time to answer customers questions one on one, and to take suggestions for feature upgrades seriously. To see you guys interact with the mailing list is great. Keep up the great work!"

"Outstanding product! We have used this product since it was a babe and have watched it mature to be rock solid on OSX. The developers are very receptive to suggestions and issue frequent new revisions with enhanced features. With InterMapper, we know when we have a network problem before our customers do. Makes troubleshooting and preventative maintenance much easier."
Patrick Storr

"InterMapper is an excellent product. We've been using it for about 8 years and it continues to improve with each revision. The crew at Dartware is incredibly responsive to support questions and suggestions. With the release of versions for Windows and Unix/Linux, InterMapper should appeal to an even wider audience. If you manage a network, this is a must."
R. Lynn Rardin

"It's nice to use software written by real world users! I've already called the HP rep and told them that Openview's pricing (and time consuming administration) is way beyond the reach of our college budget. This InterMapper software is much more useful to us."
Randy Millsop
Network Administrator
San Joaquin Delta College
"InterMapper: it is an outstanding product. It's been a long time since I got excited about software for the Mac!! Although our network is made out of PCs and Windows NT, in a very short time we were able to see devices we were not aware of, discovered problems on various segments, mis-configurations, and the exact speed of our WANs."
Willie Cenci

"InterMapper has been invaluable during the bringing-into-operation of our new Network (GEANT, the European equivalent of Abilene/Internet2). Several times a day folks were coming in to check traffic here or there, as filters were adjusted or as new NRENs became dual-homed to GEANT and its predecessor, TEN-155. It's the instant overview that's so valuable!"

"When I arrived at The Economist, the company had already bought tools like HP OpenView, CiscoWorks and Compaq Insight manager years before - none of them were working properly. It was decided to buy InterMapper as an interim measure until we could get around to spend enough effort to get the high-end systems working. I now doubt that this will ever be necessary."
Tor-Arne Gisvold

"We're a small non-profit agency, and InterMapper is one of the best investments I've made. We're always under pressure to squeeze pennies. InterMapper allows me to easily monitor bandwidth usage, so I can tell if we're getting our money's worth from our WAN circuits.
"I'm a self-taught network administrator: even so, with only a rudimentary understanding of networks and the tools available in InterMapper, I could immediately see what I most needed to know about my WAN."
Kenny McLemore
IT Coordinator
Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee
"Let me start by saying that I love this program, and your tech support has been wonderful. I was using InterMapper, and found a few problems with our routers. When I reported this to our parent company's North American WAN specialist, he claimed it was "that software" causing the problems.
Well I insisted he look into it, and guess what. Sprint found out the routers were being polled by our German parent companies HQ! After the sweet apology he asked how I could see all the sites and monitor CPU utilization, because "HP OpenView can tell bandwidth but I can not find a way to see CPU utilization.
That's when I said "Use IE and go to my IP address so you can see the chart with the problems." After a quick look, he asked if it would be OK to go to the head of IT North America and let him see how nice a tool this is. Of course I gave him my blessing. ;-)"

"I just identified errors on a Telco T-1 for a small school which does video conferencing via H.323. Their ISP had been working on the problem for 3 days now.
The school called me, I mapped the network in less than 5 minutes and found the problem. The telco is on site now fixing the problem with the T-1. (It just now came up) Total time for the fix was 1 hour and 45 minutes. InterMapper to the rescue!"
Mike Pennell

"InterMapper has been a gift from the heavens. No other platform can compare to the versatility ease of use and reliability that InterMapper has afforded us. When it comes to Real Time local and remote Monitoring, real time paging and system status regardless of the network size, InterMapper rules.
Many other much higher priced products claim to do what InterMapper can do right out of the box. InterMapper is an example of the true power and ease of use of a Apple."

"I've talked to a number of network admins who use multi-thousand dollar SNMP software packages such as HP Openview which then often require multi-thousand dollar add-ons for each class of devices they are monitoring.
Most of them seem to find those packages frustrating to the point of unusability, and not one has expressed the level of satisfaction and ease of use that we've found in Intermapper."
Clifton Royston

"We originally purchased Visio Enterprise thinking that it would allow us to monitor our network. After playing with it for a few days, I discovered the InterMapper demo. Within two days, I had our entire network mapped (something that would have taken weeks in Visio). We sent Visio back."
Jason Sewell

"An engineer of a large networking company was visiting my office to install some software and modify some network equipment. To illustrate my problem I used InterMappper. I thought he was going to go NUTS. His comments were "Very cool", "Outstanding", and "Mac users get all the fun stuff". "
Mike O'Connell
Network Manager
Texas School for the Deaf, Austin, TX
"InterMapper software & strip charts have allowed us to provision fraction T-1 internet links for our members. They can now purchase the bandwidth they need when they need it. This is a big savings for our customers. We can also constantly monitor the usage and let them know when they get near capacity and within 48 hours we can upgrade them to the bandwidth they need. Excellent product!"
Dan Swick

"The first time we called our ISP to tell them that they had trouble on one of their wide-area links, they were surprised. Today, when InterMapper shows that there's trouble, our ISP starts working on the problem right away.
We use InterMapper to monitor over one hundred wide area links. On a single screen, we can see the status of all our connections. It allows us to see the big picture.
Pricewise, InterMapper is a bargain. Optivity can give more info, but costs much more money and requires a lot of expertise to set it up and run it."
Al Harding
Assistant to the Director ot Technology
Lancaster-Lebanon Schools

"Networks are complicated. Having the ability to instantly tailor a network map to assist in solving a problem makes me feel good about myself. More than once, InterMapper's multicast stats have helped solve loading problems while using Mbone applications on our network.
San Diego Supercomputer Center operations has many visitors. Someone in every tour will notice InterMapper running and will want to know what those ants mean on the monitor. I'm always one click away from seeing realtime performance stats.
The entire SDSC networking environment is monitored with two Macintosh computers running InterMapper. Its e-mail and auto paging options give me confidence that I'm on top of any abnormal situation.
Biggest bang for the buck I have ever had."
Jay Dombrowski
San Diego Supercomputer Center
"InterMapper is great! InterMapper is very quick and very easy to setup. InterMapper gathers the most important real-time router information and gives me a way to act on it. InterMapper is better than any other real-time router monitoring tool I have found."
Mike Contino

"I have been using InterMapper on a daily basis to keep an eye on a volunteer WAN. As a network engineer, I was on a customer site when it was stated that it was taking months for them to map their global WAN and internal LAN. As a suggestion, I thought that I would look at the project and give them my feed back. I launched SNMPc and found it difficult to map such a large network from my laptop. I launched InterMapper on my trusty PowerBook and I was done in 6.5 hrs. I was able to deliver a map of the WAN and all connecting LANs the next day as a solution.
The ease of use and full feature set makes InterMapper my recommendation to many companies such as Lockheed, PeopleSoft, Chiron Corp., Bigger.Net."
Steven Ross

"InterMapper is used for monitoring our Schlumberger regional network in conjunction with the Spectrum system," says Frank Charbonnier. "We found that InterMapper is the most efficient network monitoring tool when there is a problem on the network. It is easy to create new maps, and some maps can be created just to help users to understand the network they are using, or to describe a specific project.
The InterMapper Web page helps users to understand where the problems are instead of having them calling our help desk ten times a day. We have more satisfaction for our users, less calls for our help desk."
Frank Charbonnier

"We really like InterMapper here at Cornell. It's simple, visual, and flexible. We have a large network with over 100 routers. Each router can have up to 10 interfaces, with ten to 250 devices on each interface. We have had problems implementing a more full-blown monitoring system due to the complexity of our network. With InterMapper, we can add devices to a map in minutes."
Juan Salomon
Cornell University
"Without InterMapper, I'm afraid that our long-line vendor would ride roughshod over us. With 60 frame relay lines, we're heavily dependent on reliable connections. We can tell immediately that a circuit has failed. When the frame relay vendor gets a call from us, they know there's a real problem and initiate the repair immediately.
InterMapper is also a selling tool for me. When a customer asks why their network seems so slow, I can show them the link utilization right on the InterMapper map. They can see which lines are heavily loaded, and which need to be upgraded.
Most people don't need the full features of the expensive network management products. Furthermore, no one wants to learn a lot of SNMP just to monitor their network. InterMapper combines the best parts of those expensive packages with Macintosh ease of use. It has a visual display of your network, excellent layout capabilities, and beautiful logging. It will even notify you via e-mail or pager when something has gone wrong. I am so used to it that I couldn't work without it."
Frostie Sprout

"I like InterMapper because it monitors the network all the time. If someone calls to report a problem, I use InterMapper to check the state of the network. Whether there's a problem with our Internet connection or problems with a router, I can see what is happening."
Margaret Johnston
Director of Administrative Computer Systems
Antioch New England Graduate School
"I love InterMapper! Just the other day, I used it to diagnose a problem between two sites: the equipment wasn't handling the T-1 data rate, and InterMapper pointed out which interface had the trouble.
InterMapper also gives a visual display of when lines are heavily used. It shows when the frame relay link to the local school district gets loaded, and we can plan when to upgrade the speed or to purchase another line.
Furthermore, I use InterMapper from home on a PowerBook. I tell my friends at other companies that they should buy a Mac, just so they can run InterMapper."
Dave Hawk
LAN Administrator
Nevada Bell Internet
"We use InterMapper on the corporate network and at external sites to know what equipment is really out there. Its auto-discovery feature gives the ability to make a map of the routers and the links that are in place. We can modify the labels to add meaning, as well.
"For hosts and servers, we just point and click within InterMapper to have Dartmouth's MacPing program discover what's on a network segment. Then we select the significant devices and paste them directly into the InterMapper map."
Fred Chase
Lead Security Analyst
MITRE Corporation
"InterMapper is our first line of defense. We shopped around for a comprehensive network monitoring tool, and found InterMapper to be the hands-down best choice.
As an Internet Service Provider, we use it to monitor over 240 devices and links, including our connections to the Internet nexus and to each customer site.
Part of our value-added service is to notify the client of any reachability errors within ten minutes, and, if necessary, work with the telephone company and client administrators to expedite the repair. InterMapper gives us a timely notification with an easy-to-read display to allow our NOC team to quickly grasp the scope of any network problems."
