Datware Ships UPS Bundle for InterMapper

*Allows monitoring of Uninterruptible Power Supplies from multiple vendors

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hanover, NH, 28 July 2005 -- Dartware, LLC, a trailblazer in the development of graphical and intuitive real-time network monitoring tools, announces new software probes that allow its InterMapper software to monitor uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) from many new vendors. These probes allow network administrators to see the health of the UPSs that they have installed in their network.

"We monitor two 80kVA Liebert UPSs in our data centre," says Daniel Quigan, of Compass Communications Ltd, New Zealand. "The probes have allowed us to keep a close eye on the UPSs. It allows us to plan for future growth and to provide good reporting on the performance of the UPS, to both internal parties and external customers."

The new probe bundle can monitor the following equipment:

APC UPS

APC UPS with AP961x Environmental Monitor

BestPower UPS

Exide UPS

Liebert UPS

Liebert UPS with OpenComms (Web Card)

Standard UPS (RFC1628)

Tripp Lite UPS

Victron UPS

"In the past, we've had UPS engineers come in and leave the UPS on bypass - or we've had the UPS break, and be running on bypass. The UPS would not normally be 'looked at', so its malfunction could easily go undetected," says Stewart Harris, a network manager at the University of Sheffield, England. "It was InterMapper on these occasions that alerted us to the problem."

The UPS bundle is a no-cost add-on for all customers with current maintenance contracts. It is available immediately from the Dartware web site.
