Affordable Network Monitoring
"The first year I was here, I had to justify the InterMapper purchase price. I told my Board of Education, buying InterMapper was like buying a 24x7x365 person to watch our network. A great investment!
As our network has grown, InterMapper has grown right along with it. We started with one map watching one location, we now have five maps watching all locations. We maintain maps down to the individual user's computer and building printers, although we do not use the alert feature on everything. When a user calls with a problem, a quick check of InterMapper will tell whether their machine is on the network. Since we have to drive to all of our sites, it is great to be able to check on a computer or printer before making the trip. I take every opportunity I have to recommend InterMapper to my peers. Bar none, it is the best solution for school network management!"

"When we saw InterMapper's map of our network, we felt like kids in a candy store. It is very easy to set up and reasonably priced, not like the 'big systems' that cost tens of thousands and take weeks to set up."

"I've talked to a number of network admins who use multi-thousand dollar SNMP software packages such as HP Openview which then often require multi-thousand dollar add-ons for each class of devices they are monitoring.
Most of them seem to find those packages frustrating to the point of unusability, and not one has expressed the level of satisfaction and ease of use that we've found in Intermapper."

"It's nice to use software written by real world users! I've already called the HP rep and told them that Openview's pricing (and time consuming administration) is way beyond the reach of our college budget. This InterMapper software is much more useful to us."

"When I came to Spencer Hospital, I saw the need for a network management system here. I looked at a few, such as HPOV and Solarwinds. I found InterMapper to be the most affordable. The hospital now monitors all servers with SNMP. InterMapper gives us the ability to be proactive in our environment. When drives start to fill up, network links get full, or processors peak, we know about it and can react many times before the end users know the problem exists. We've put up wireless and also monitor all of the WAP's. Most devices, firewalls/switches/routers, are monitored with SNMP and alerts have been setup.
We use the Windows version, and I alone pretty much do all of our Linux work on the one server we have. I've found InterMapper to be an extremely stable Windows program."
